节目以武汉“封城”为切入点，走进“封城”之下的武汉，通过深入一线的采访拍摄，记录了奋战在武汉抗疫一线的医生专家、各地驰援的建筑工程师、医务工作者、检测科学家、生活在武汉的社区工作者和治愈病人等故事。
节目以时间为线索，回溯到2019年岁未和2020年年初，聚焦了从疫情日益严峻到有效遏制这个过程中的关键时间、事件，从全国各地纷纷启动中国重大突发公共卫生事件一级响应，到中国疾控中心病毒病研究所科学家们争分夺秒的研究工作；从干里之外向武汉捐赠大米的农民，到随着疫情好转逐步复产复工的工厂记录了全中国与时间赛跑、与病魔较量的故事。

With unrivalled access to Wuhan city under lockdown, and to the doctors, scientists, volunteers and public officials on the front line in this battle to defeat a new public enemy, this documentary charts the growing concern in Chinain the run up to lockdown, as scientists race to understand and control the virus.
In honest interviews on location we discover the story inside the city after lockdown: the tension and stress, the courage and the commitment of the peopleof Wuhan. And find out how lessons learnt here could help the rest of the world in the battle to come.
