THE MOON AND BEYOND looks at how the Apollo space program has led to a new understanding of our moon and of our own solar system-and of galaxies beyond. The documentary revisits milestone moments in the Apollo space program, focusing on what NASA scientists and engineers learnt about the moon as they raced to developthe technology that would land a man on its surface, and bring him safely back. It also weaves in stories of modern space exploration, such as China's Shenzhou and Chang'e programs, and how they build on the spirit of lunar exploration and scientific legacy of the Apollo program.
